巴西广东同乡总会：正推动圣保罗与广州结为“姐妹城市”
应巴西联邦共和国总统卢拉邀请，国家主席习近平将于11月17日至21日赴里约热内卢出席二十国集团领导人第十九次峰会并对巴西进行国事访问。巴西广东同乡总会会长苏新效接受羊城晚报记者采访时表示，这将为在巴广东华人提供更多发展空间。目前，他们正在推动广州市与巴西圣保罗市缔结“姐妹城市”。
苏新效介绍，目前居住在巴西的30万华人华侨中，广东籍占约15万。作为一个历史悠久、规模庞大的组织，总会积极推动中巴经济文化合作。2024年是中巴建交50周年，总会已接待国内20多个经贸代表团，助力两国在产业和文化领域的交流合作。“巴西正推进‘再工业化’，而中国有现代化发展经验。双方优势互补，可在工业园区建设、人力资源培训等方面展开合作。”他说。
总会同时也致力于弘扬中华优秀传统文化。“我们总会的‘金牌’活动之一，就是每一年都会举办大型重阳敬老活动。届时会有300-400名老年人从巴西各地赶来。”苏新效说，华人华侨相聚一堂，吃饭话家常，在异国他乡也能够感受佳节团圆的氛围。
与此同时，暨南大学和总会已有十余年的合作历史，总会是暨南大学在巴西的招生代办处，每年都有许多华裔学子经推荐进入暨南大学学习。暨南大学与总会之间保持着密切的联系，诸多教授学者也会定期前往巴西，和当地学术机构开展交流合作。
此外，苏新效还透露，目前总会正在积极促成广州市和圣保罗市结为“姐妹城市”。“提案我们已经送到巴西圣保罗市市政厅了，希望在最短的时间内把这件事情做好。”
苏新效表示，未来总会将继续推动中巴企业互访，加强产业合作。“不管是江门的咖啡、中山的灯具，还是深圳的无人机，中国有技术，巴西有市场，这种互补性是未来发展的关键。”苏新效表示。
